The Ukrainian community has had a lot of support from the Australian government with regard to assistance for newly arrived Ukrainians.
The Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has been a great support and on Thursday 2 June 2022 we were visited by Community Liaison Officer Matthew McKenzie.
Matthew has taken a great interest in how our community has responded to the recent migrant wave and has been incredibly supportive.
Matthew toured our Centre and said he was surprised at how big it was and how much activity there is as he was “just expecting a hall”.
Since February our Community Centre has started catering for greater numbers with free English classes for both adults and children, twice weekly lunches, social catch ups and social support.
